Hypothetical Dimensions/Shape: Taller than the Satellite Launch Pad socket, and just as wide. Because Amarrian design dictates the use round edges, its base should form an ellipse and be tapered to a point at the top, much like a weird ice cream cone.
Design: Overview It's a beautiful soft gold structure standing tall, with an aesthetically pleasing observation deck. The top harbors the control room which would seem similar to the interior of the Biomass Outpost. The midsection would be a spiraled staircase with a few landings that could possibly have a supply depot or some Amarrian statue/piece of art. The lower portion is where the entrances are and makes a beautiful lobby that screams gold & gothic.
Interior Lobby would have a shrine in the center, staircase to the side, arches around the doorway, basalt flooring + gloss (just like the amarrian Merc Quarters). The stair case's first 4 steps are without a railing and multidirectional. You climb these stairs to the first landing where you find (A) supply depot (amarrian I hope) (B) another great piece of art or (C) a hologram of the Amarr Symbol. Next landing up is A, B, or C, but can't be the same as the first landing. At the precipice of the stairs you come to the control room and it's nothing but a stylish room containing computers and large monitors. It has a doorway to the outside observation deck.
Exterior Shares many aspects with those of Amarrian starships. It's like a large not-quite-phallus monument to Amarrian authority. It's tall but sturdy looking, with the iconic amarrian curve to it and sort of looks like a tall-rounded isosceles triangle. The observation deck is near the top of the obelisk. The observation deck does not extend beyond the structure, rather it is reclusive and the top of the tower acts like an umbrella and shades the deck from the elements.
Reasoning It looks after the general incomings and outgoings. It is a key facility for controlling the commerce and asserting the Amarrian authority. It stands tall over the minor operations, which are shorter than the obelisk. It's the tallest thing nearby but off in the not-so distance are even larger, more assertive obelisks of similar design. The control obelisk is as much functionality as it is a testament to the Amarrian ways. It either strikes a sense of pride into the Amarr or a sense of dread into the Minmatar. It should give the impression of "Master", in a theocratic way or in a slave way, you pick.
Would be an interesting place to put a null cannon....
